Rush Creek is now offering small group adult lessons in our club owned IC 24’s.
Lessons will be taught on Friday evenings this spring from 5:15-7:15pm on March 22, April 5, 19, May 10, and 17. We can teach all levels of sailors and offer a Skill Development and Introduction to Racing classes.
Learn basic maneuvers, including tacking, jibing, and flying a spinnaker.
Become proficient sailing upwind, downwind, or on any other point of sail.
Develop good boat handling habits, and learn all the different positions on the boat.
Build confidence at the helm, trimming the sails, and hoisting and taking down the spinnaker.
Learn how to come in and out of the dock safely and effectively under sail.
Introduction to Racing (Basic Spinnaker Skills Required)
Learn how to go upwind using tell tails and maximizing boat speed.
Learn how to round marks, cleanly and effectively.
Practice efficient sets, jibes, and douses with the spinnaker.
Learn the format for starting a race, and develop strategy around the racecourse.
Build confidence in your helmsman ship and crew work.
Classes will run for 5 Friday evenings from 5:15-7:15 on March 22, April 5, 19, May 10, and 17.
Cost is $120 for members / $150 for non-members
