Eight boats registered to sail the 2020 Love Boat Race while the wind blowing a steady 18 knots and gusts to 25 knots. Fortunately the wind laid down to 13-18 knots as the skipper’s meeting was wrapping up and remained there throughout the afternoon. Using a pursuit start where the slowest boat starts first, Mike Brown in a Sunfish started first and led 4 of the 5 legs around the RCYC permanent marks. He was eventually ground down coming into the finish at the RCYC Club mark by Melissa Hemker sailing a Flying Scot. Jack Marsh, also in a Flying Scot, followed Mike across the finish line to finish third.
